AUSTRALIAN HEROES

You are our best, our troops, protectors,
Your glory, like the wattle’s bough,
Born from strong and sturdy peoples,
Never daunted, hold the line,
Willing to give up your freedom,
Ready to take on the fight,
When danger looms, your hearts are solid,
Intelligent and bold as brass,
Past warriors from Vietnam join,
The Light Horse and the Anzac stride,
Walk tall with them, as Aussie’s do,
You are our brave and finest troops,
Crawling through the mud and desert,
Facing danger every day, we know,
You always give your best and more,
When needed by your country,
For those we’ve lost, you’re in our memories,
Never to forget your worth,
Army, Navy, Air force, others,
Men and women march with pride,
From all of us we give our thanks,
This work you’ve done, to keep us safe,
As Aussies do without a fuss,
Come home safe, you’ve made us proud.
